Honey is a sweet liquid produced by honeybees from sugary plant and flower secretions through regurgitation, enzyme activity and water evaporation. Depending on its nectar source, honey naturally crystallises over time without affecting its chemical properties or quality. Its composition and type vary with the bees' diet and the flowers visited. Honey is used as a folk and home remedy for burns and skin injuries, as a topical antibiotic, and for acute and chronic coughs. An entire chapter of the Quran is named An-Nahl, meaning "The Bee".
