Product details

Grade 1 compost from controlled aerobic processing of farm, garden, livestock and source-separated municipal organic waste. Mature, dark brown–black, soft, crumbly, uniform; no large clumps, weed seeds, parasite eggs or pathogens (Salmonella, E. coli, Clostridium). Earthy smell; no ammonia, sulfur or rot odors. Moisture 25–35%; sieve 10–15 mm. OM >35% by weight; OC 18–25%; N 1.5–2.5%; available P₂O₅ 0.5–1.5%, K₂O 0.8–2%; C/N <20, ideal 12–15; pH 6.5–8; EC <4 dS/m; CEC >60 meq/100g. Respiration <2 mg CO₂/g OM/day. C/N <20 indicates maturity without soil nitrogen immobilization. Contains beneficial aerobic nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi including Trichoderma. Improves structure, infiltration, aeration, moisture retention and soil life; reduces compaction, crusting, salinity and toxins; chelates heavy metals. Slow nutrient release reduces chemical fertilizer needs; improves drought, salinity, frost and soilborne disease resistance. Reduces water use by up to 30% in light, sandy soils.
