Piarom dates from Hajiabad County, Hormozgan Province. Semi-dry, export-grade dates, dark brown to nearly black, with an elongated shape measuring 2 to 3 finger segments in length. Fleshy fruit with thin, wrinkled skin that adheres closely to the flesh. No syrup. Long shelf life and suitable for export. Sweet caramel flavor without excessive stickiness. Rich in magnesium, potassium and antioxidants, and described as low in sugar for people with diabetes. Strong market demand in Asia, Europe and Arab countries.
